Their open and trusting nature of people can lead them into situations where they are taken advantage of or even put them into danger. They struggle with routine and discipline to the point that they are unable to hold down a job or be able to care for their most basic needs.

In the neglect of the 5 energies, 5s can become lethargic and complainant. They will let themselves get stuck in situations where they are unhappy. They can become prone to drug addictions as a way of fulfilling a need to be high in an unhealthy way rather than pursuing this high through adventure and learning. They will avoid challenges and chaos at all costs and settle for the mundane and practical.
