The Knight of Swords is blunt and rash. He is headstrong and determined to speak his truth, though he has not yet developed the eloquence of speech that would allow him to speak with a more mature and refined form of communication. He often comes across as being mean and hurtful, though this may not be his intention.
The Knight of Swords is a warrior for truth. He fights for what he believes is important to uphold when it comes to what he thinks is right or wrong. He is a defender of those who have been wronged and advocates for what is fair and just.
While his intentions are noble, his actions and speech can be too harsh and tend to be exaggerated and over the top. When he feels that something goes against his truth, he takes it on as a personal attack and reacts quickly and is fierce in his retaliation. He is definitely someone who speaks first and thinks later.
With the Knight of Swords coming up as a reflection of our own selves that can act in this way, we are reminded that aspects of this character are sometimes needed in specific situations. Certainly, we want to avoid being mean and cruel, which this character can be, but sometimes we are encouraged to jump in and fight with force when our truth is being challenged and when we witness unfair and unjust violations in the world around us.
When we access this Knight of Swords to help us in situations that call for this valiant warrior to come forth, we are allowing ourselves to speak our truth in full force so as to be heard and to not be ignored. We do want to be aware that this may not be received well, but sometimes when things have reached a point of such a violation of truth and fairness, this is the only way. And so when the Knight comes up, we are being asked to be brave and to stand up and speak out our truth with full conviction and force.
Of course, it is not always easy to discern when this Knight of Swords is actually needed. Sometimes when we are triggered or feel attacked, it can be tempting to react through this energy without thinking about the consequences. When we have this knight come through, we want to be certain that this is the energy that will serve us and discern in other times when this energy would cause more damage than not. When we feel the energy of the Knight of Sword arise in us, this might be a difficult thing to honestly observe.
