The Knight of cups is on a quest for love. He is the part of ourselves that want to discover, learn and grow into love in all the ways that love can exist. He is a romantic character who indulges in all the languages of love. He shares his love freely as he enjoys expressing this love and connecting with others through the abundance of love he carries.
When we encounter the Knight of Cups within ourselves, we are being asked to explore our own expressions of love. How do you like to give love? How do you like to receive love? If you don’t know, you are being encouraged through the knight to search for these answers.
The Knight wants to experience all expressions of love. He wants to feel love, speak love, and hear love. He wants to indulge in all things that feel romantic. You are likely to find him watching a sunset, eating a picnic on the beach, writing a sonnet, cooking a special meal, having a bubble bath with roses or listening to some soft and sensual music. When we envision these romantic things, we often think of sharing it with other people. However, the knight comes to encourage us to first learn how to give these things to ourselves. When we learn how to love ourselves we can then share this love with another.
This romantic exploration allows us to discover many expressions of love. It helps us to tap into our emotional energies and to feel into all the beautiful sensations that can be experienced when we allow ourselves to both give and receive this loving romantic energy. This romantic energy can bring us delightful pleasure through being pampered and being shown special loving treatment. The Knight of Cups is the reminder that this romantic soul exists within us and its time now to explore this sensual, tender, sensitive and indulgent part of ourselves so that we can let love flow freely both in and out.
