Challenges come into our life to push us to change and to grow. Challenge does not mean weakness. Challenge is something that is helping us to expand beyond what is no longer working and helps us to free ourselves from the limitations we place on ourselves. Weakness is when we perceived a limitation is something we are unable to change.
The 5 of Wands comes up to encourage us to make some changes and to open to new directions through the challenges that are coming in. We are being advised in this moment to know that it is not enough at this point to keep doing things the way that we were, and we must now expand and grow. These challenges are also pushing us to help us to discover our strength and power at a whole new level. When things get tough, we get a chance to see what we are made of.
Another facet of this card is the theme of competition. Sometimes we feel threatened by others who are doing similar things as us and the confidence and success in which they are doing it. We can take this as being a reason to give up and to feed our doubts and fears, or we can see this as an opportunity to push ourselves to try even harder. We are challenged to change through competition because we are pushed to go the extra mile that we may not have bothered to do so otherwise. We can then see that competition is not working against us, it is actually working for us. However, it is important to remember that competition is not about proving that we are better than anyone else, but rather about proving ourselves to ourselves so that we can witness our own strength and power and live up to the potential of our own personal best.
The 5 of Wands also speaks about a chance for collaboration. When we stop seeing others as competion that works against us, we can then work together to achieve a greater and more expansive vision through team work. This requires us to suspend our me vs you attitude. We all deserve sucsess and the chance to win and it would be a whole lot easier if we all work together. When we realize this, all limitations end and we can then push and motivate each other from a place of support and encouragement, ensuring that we all come out on top.
